“DiscovertheNetworks.org”; An amazing tool to research and find how the Political Left is interconnected and funded

Straight from David Horowitz.  For those of you who do not already know David Horowitz, he is a former activist for the left.  David was raised by communist parents, and had his own awakening when the US left the Vietnam War.  Once the US military was gone and no longer a threat, the people left behind were slaughtered by Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge.  The activist, leadership of the left, showed no compassion or anger at a “communist” regime’s massacre of it’s own people.  So had he been fighting for a lie?

Yes, Mr. Horowitz, now understood the empty, inhumane and ruthless nature of the movement he had helped.  Since that time he has worked tirelessly to expose the Progressive’s and with this website, he helps you to see the connections, too.  The website is: “DiscovertheNetworks.org.”

Mr. Horowitz also works under the organization HorowitzFreedomCenter.org, which helps to keep us connected with others who strive to “drain the swamp,” as Nancy Pelosi so adoringly coined.

Use it.  Enjoy it.  Share it.  We the People must expose how they’ve been working in harmony to rustle, wrangle and corral us towards the cliff.

On this MLK Holiday weekend we should ask; “Can C.L. Bryant’s view help to restore Race Relations, the Constitution and Prosperity in America?”

C.L. Bryant has collaborated with Matte Kibbe of “FreedomWorks.org” to make the documentary movie; “Runaway Slave”.

As a former NAACP leader, C.L. Bryant chronicles the American Black’s voyage from the black underground perspective of the Civil War through the 1960’s (pre JFK) as a voting block for the Republican Party, and the gains to their economic and social progress in America.  Sans the Dr. Martin Luther King era and John F Kennedy’s presidency, when former President Lyndon Johnson made social welfare a household word, the “black vote” has gone 95% to the Democrat Party.  According to the findings of Dr. Bryant, the economic and social advances in the black community have been in decline due to their blind allegiance to a Party that has indoctrinated generations of black families to worship the benevolence of government welfare.  A government that socially manipulates (dictates) behavior to keep the gravy train of welfare dollars coming to them, with acceptable behavior and the votes to perpetuate this system.

Since this weekend is in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, I believe Dr. Bryant’s video here and a link to the trailer of his video; “Runaway Slave”, is the time to remind us all that the way it is now, is not as it has always been.

More Pigs at the Trough: “The Price of Free Corn”, by Steve Washam

So tell me, are you able to understand the similarity between the story I’ve posted below and the Occupier’s around the World?

YiT,  Shelly

By Steve Washam, based on a telling by George Gordon

In a realistic style, this story illustrates what the U.S. government and the UN are doing to the people of America and the  world. When thinking of Constitutional violations by our  politicians, think of this parable.

Some years ago, about 1900, an old trapper from North Dakota hitched up some horses to his Studebaker wagon, packed a few  possessions, especially his traps -- and drove south.

Several weeks later he stopped in a small town just north of the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia. It was a Saturday morning -- a lazy day -- when he walked into the general store. Sitting around the pot-bellied stove were seven or eight of the town's local citizens.

The traveler spoke, "Gentlemen, could you direct me to the Okefenokee Swamp?"

Some of the old-timers looked at him like he was crazy. "You must be a stranger in these parts," they said.

"I am. I'm from North Dakota," said the stranger.

"In the Okefenokee Swamp are thousands of wild hogs," one old man explained. "A man who goes into the swamp by himself asks to die!"

He lifted up his leg. "I lost half my leg here, to the pigs of the swamp."

Another old fellow said, "Look at the cuts on me; look at my arm bit off!"

"Those pigs have been free since the Revolution, eating snakes and rooting out roots and fending for themselves for over a hundred years. They're wild and they're dangerous. You can't trap them. No  man dare go into the swamp by himself."

Every man nodded his head in agreement.

The old trapper said, "Thank you so much for the warning. Now  could you direct me to the swamp?"

They said, "Well, yeah, it's due south -- straight down the road." But they begged the stranger not to go, because they knew he'd  meet a terrible fate.

He said, "Sell me ten sacks of corn, and help me load them into  the wagon."

And they did.

Then the old trapper bid them farewell and drove on down the road. The townsfolk thought they'd never see him again. Two weeks later  the man came back. He pulled up to the general store, got down off  the wagon, walked in and bought ten more sacks of corn. After  loading it up he went back down the road toward the swamp.

Two weeks later he returned and, again, bought ten sacks of corn. This went on for a month. And then two months, and three. Every  week or two the old trapper would come into town on a Saturday  morning, load up ten sacks of corn and drive off south into the  swamp.

The stranger soon became a legend in the little village and the subject of much speculation. People wondered what kind of devil  had possessed this man, that he could go into the Okefenokee by  himself and not be consumed by the wild and free hogs.

One morning the man came into town as usual. Everyone thought he wanted more corn. He got off the wagon and went into the store  where the usual group of men were gathered around the stove. He  took off his gloves.

"Gentlemen," he said, "I need to hire about ten or fifteen wagons. I need twenty or thirty men. I have six thousand hogs out in the swamp, penned up, and they're all hungry. I've got to get them to  market right away."

"You've WHAT in the swamp?" asked the storekeeper,  incredulously.

"I have six thousand hogs penned up. They haven't eaten for two or three days, and they'll starve if I don't get back there to feed and take care of them."

One of the old-timers said, "You mean you've captured the wild  hogs of the Okefenokee?"

"That's right."

"How did you do that? What did you do?" the men urged, breathlessly.

One of them exclaimed, "But I lost my arm!"

"I lost my brother!" cried another.

"I lost my leg to those wild boars!" chimed a third.

The trapper said, "Well, the first week I went in there they were wild all right. They hid in the undergrowth and wouldn't come out.  I dared not get off the wagon. So I spread corn along behind the  wagon. Every day I'd spread a sack of corn.

"The old pigs would have nothing to do with it. But the younger pigs decided that it was easier to eat free corn than it was to  root out roots and catch snakes. So the very young began to eat  the corn first.

"I did this every day. Pretty soon, even the old pigs decided that it was easier to eat free corn, after all, they were all free;  they were not penned up. They could run off in any direction they  wanted at any time.

"The next thing was to get them used to eating in the same place all the time. So, I selected a clearing, and I started putting the  corn in the clearing.

"At first they wouldn't come to the clearing. It was too far. It was too open. It was a nuisance to them.

"But the very young decided that it was easier to take the corn in the clearing than it was to root out roots and catch their own  snakes. And not long thereafter, the older pigs also decided that  it was easier to come to the clearing every day.

"And so the pigs learned to come to the clearing every day to get their free corn. They could still subsidize their diet with roots  and snakes and whatever else they wanted. After all, they were all  free. They could run in any direction at any time. There were no  bounds upon them.

"The next step was to get them used to fence posts. So I put fence posts all the way around the clearing. I put them in the  underbrush so that they wouldn't get suspicious or upset, after  all, they were just sticks sticking up out of the ground, like the  trees and the brush. The corn was there every day. It was easy to  walk in between the posts, get the corn, and walk back out.

"This went on for a week or two. Shortly they became very used to walking into the clearing, getting the free corn, and walking back out through the fence posts.

"The next step was to put one rail down at the bottom. I also left a few openings, so that the older, fatter pigs could walk through the openings and the younger pigs could easily jump over just one  rail, after all, it was no real threat to their freedom or  independence they could always jump over the rail and flee in  any direction at any time.

"Now I decided that I wouldn't feed them every day. I began to  feed them every other day. On the days I didn't feed them, the  pigs still gathered in the clearing. They squealed, and they  grunted, and they begged and pleaded with me to feed them -- but I  only fed them every other day. Then I put a second rail around the  posts.”

"Now the pigs became more and more desperate for food. Because now they were no longer used to going out and digging their own roots  and finding their own food, they now needed me. They needed my  corn every other day.

"So I trained them that I would feed them every day if they came  in through a gate and I put up a third rail around the fence. But it was still no great threat to their freedom, because there were several gates and they could run in and out at will. Finally I put up the fourth rail. Then I closed all the gates but one, and I fed them very, very well."

"Yesterday I closed the last gate and today I need you to help me take these pigs to market."

The price of free corn.

The parable of the pigs has a serious moral lesson. This story is about federal money being used to bait, trap and enslave a once  free and independent people.

Federal welfare, in its myriad forms, has reduced not only individuals to a state of dependency; state and local governments  are also on the fast track to elimination, due to their functions  being subverted by the command and control structures of federal  "revenue sharing" programs.

Please copy this parable and send it to all of your state and  local elected leaders and other concerned citizens. Tell them" Just  say NO to federal corn."

The bacon you save, may be your own.

OWS moves into their next phase; “The Robin Hood Tax”

The Occupiers have been organized from the get go.  They have painted a picture of themselves as a disorganized group who just happened to gather together on September 17th, (Constitution Day) to express their multifaceted, disjointed complaints.  “Not so!”, says Erik Erickson of “Red State”.  Well those of us who know that “Occupy  Wall Street” (it’s simply amazing that such a spontaneous movement has put together a print publication a high tech website and serves the Occupier’s  organic, corn fed, “filet mignon” type food???) was originally labeled “Days of Rage”, organized by the SEIU’s Steven Lerner, heartily agree with Mr. Erickson’s belief.

Enjoy these ‘2’ articles from “Red State” and stay on top of what’s really happening, because the mainstream media is not showing you the truth of this movement.  Then ask yourself (and maybe even take the time to ask the MSM); “Why?”

Unions & #OccupyWallStreet Reveal Their Hidden Agenda: A Worldwide Financial Tax

Posted by LaborUnionReport (Diary)

Thursday, November 3rd at 11:00AM EDT

If there’s one thing about the Marxists controlling today’s unions, it is that they are predictable. If you watch them long enough, the pattern is always the same: Demand the extreme with something attainable in mind as the fallback position.

In labor relations, the making of outrageous demands is a classic negotiating tactic at the bargaining table because union negotiators know company negotiators will only agree to what they are willing to based on business economics. In politics, however, the union tactic is an absolute winner because their prey (politicians, many of whom are bought by unions anyway) always fall for it and, besides, it’s only the taxpayers who are stuck with the tab. One thing though, whether at the bargaining table or in politics, unions always reveal their hidden agenda—eventually. Click here to read the full story.

#OccupySetup: Dems Introduce “Steal From The Rich, Give To The Poor” Tax Act

Posted by LaborUnionReport (Diary)

Friday, November 4th at 12:15AM EDT

Let’s put this into some context, shall we? For nearly two months, America has watch the violence-laden, union-sponsored, carnival-like freak show of the #OccupyWallSt movement push its Neo-Communist agenda. Then, the day that union boss Richard Trumka heads over to Cannes, an #OccupyWallSt-union brigade of protesters expose the movement’s hidden agenda by announcing they will be taking their angry protests outside the Treasury Department to demand the so-called “Robin Hood Tax,” Democrats in the House and Senate introduce a bill to pass said tax:

This week, a bill was introduced that would impose a new tax on certain trading transactions in financial markets. The tax – which is aimed at the wealthy – is already being called the “Robin Hood Tax” and is part of H.R. 3313, sponsored by Rep. Peter A. DeFazio (D-OR). Twelve co-sponsors in the House have signed onto the bill so far: Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR); Rep. Bruce Braley (D-IA); Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI); Rep. Donna F. Edwards (D-MD); Rep. Bob Filner (D-CA); Rep. Maurice D. Hinchey (D-NY); Rep. Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hi); Rep. Henry C. “Hank” Johnson, Jr. (D-GA); Rep. John P. Sarbanes (D-MD); Rep. Louise McIntosh Slaughter (D-NY); Rep. Betty Sutton (D-OH) and Rep. Peter Welch (D-VT). Nope, those Ds aren’t typos. All of the sponsors of the bill are Democrats.

And, of course, there’s this:

This idea invoking the name of Robin has been around for awhile… October 29th is the eve of the G20 Leaders Summit in France. #Occupy originator Adbusters wants its followers to “rise up and demand that our G20 leaders immediately impose a 1 percent ROBIN HOOD tax on all financial transactions and currency trades.”

Days of Rage - grassroots or astro-turf?

Back in February of 2011, on the Glenn Beck Show, Mr. Beck revealed a video taped session from SEIU’s former leader, Steven Lerner.  In this video Mr. Lerner speaks about the beginning of an organized event to be called the “Days of Rage”.  The event was to begin on September 17th, 2011 (Constitution Day) on the streets of Manhattan, New York, known as “Wall Street”.  This action comes directly from the manifesto; “The Coming Insurrection”.

There has been a lot of local and national news blips with cutesy video of the protestors.  Their video pretty much focuses on the un-intelligible rants of an uninformed band of parrots.

The video I’ve posted below shows a great difference in the level of protestors who are gathering in Washington, D.C., but they are no better informed than the protestors in New York.  The difference is that they are not showing drugged-out children, from the flower children, of the 60’s generation.  They are college educated youth, on their way to be the “leaders” of tomorrow.  The college educated class that are graduating from our schools of higher learning are prime examples of the re-wiring that has been done to our youth.  Listen to their words and realize that this is a prime example of the how our public Universities, a majority of our private Universities, our public Schools and again a majority of our private Schools have turned away from teaching the true meaning of the Founders fight for our U.S. Constitution, free markets and the rights to our private property.

The schools are dependent on public funding from the federal and state governments.  This funding comes with many strings attached and some of those strings are tied to A21/Sustainable Development policy.  The stated goals for Sustainable Development is to change education of the youth towards a “global” understanding that the United States unjustly has accumulated too much wealth in proportion to the rest of the world.  They fail to mention that it is due to the U.S. Constitution, State Constitutions and Local Charters, that citizen’s of the United States have the rights to their property, and this is the key to our ability to create wealth.  As the government taxes and regulates these rights and protections away, our private wealth is seriously eroded, which is the major factor to our current economic malaise.Sus Devp (small)

Conn Carroll: Documents show FCC coordinated 'Net Neutrality' effort with outside group

By: Conn Carroll 06/02/11 8:05 PM

Senior Editorial Writer Follow Him @Conncarroll

Documents made public yesterday by Judicial Watch describe extensive collusion by Federal Communications Commission officials with a left-wing advocacy group in a campaign to expand government regulation of the Internet.

The documents, obtained by Judicial Watch in a December 2010 Freedom of Information Act request, were created after Democrat appointees solidified their 3-2 control of the agency in March 2009.

Judicial Watch is a conservative nonprofit that specializes in using the FOIA and other avenues to expose corruption in government.

The coordination between FCC officials and Free Press, the advocacy group, was on behalf of a proposal that the agency assert authority to regulate access to the Internet as if it were a public utility in the interest of insuring "Net Neutrality."

Proponents said doing so would assure equal access for all Internet users by barring companies from offering preferred rates for higher delivery speeds. Other users, especially in communities with limited Internet access, would be forced to accept poorer service.

But critics said the proposal would actually give the FCC the first tool it needed to ultimately regulate content, and they argued that the FCC has no authority over the medium in the first place. It would be akin to forcing FedEx and UPS to treat all packages the same way the U.S. Postal Service does.

Free Press is the most vocal of a number of far-left and liberal advocacy groups that for nearly a decade have pushed numerous proposals for vastly increasing government regulation of the Internet

Answer Coalition Advocates Violence to Push Progressive Agenda

Go to PSLweb.org and find out for yourself if this video doesn’t tell you what’s coming to your community, soon.  There appears to be a very transparent and co-ordinated effort to bring the U.S. Constitution to it’s knees.  Is our local FBI on top of this?  Is the DOJ pursuing action against this call for domestic terrorism?  With the recent revelation that Stephen Lerner was in a closed door meeting with Frances Fox Piven, advocating for exactly this, and now you have this group meeting to fan the flames of just such an outbreak of violence…where are those we pay to protect society from treason against our U.S. Constitution?  Are they asleep at the wheel like the Air Traffic Controller was?  Just asking a question and trust you will too!

Washington State Unions Plan Week of Protests for No Wage or Benefit Cuts

Not all Union members are happy that their precious union dues are spent this way. How else do you think I received this email being shared among the local unions?

For some insane reason the Unions don’t understand how the financial and benefit packages that they procured during ‘collective bargaining’ is one large part of what’s destroying the private sector. Wake up! If there’s not a growing private sector and private sector jobs, there is no money to pay for public services.
Legacy and benefit plans are unsustainable for the obvious reason that they are not only ‘too’ generous, but also because the public sector has grown faster than the private sector and has not adjusted itself in the tough times as the private sector does. The private sector adjusts itself naturally due to market forces. The public sector does not adjust itself naturally due to the choke hold they have on the public coffers. Politicians who were more concerned about getting public union dollars for their elections, than looking out for the best interest of all the tax paying citizen’s they represent, have sold both sides a lemon.

So, Washington State Unions, protest all you want…that does not change the truth.

This is a copy of the information being emailed to local Washington State Public Employees

My Friends, it's time to take a stand!

As the budget shortfall continues to grow, so do the attacks on public employees and Washington families. Legislators are scapegoating workers while giving away billions in tax breaks to out of state corporations.

Did you know state Senator Zarelli is fighting to reject your contract because he thinks the 3% pay cut you agreed to isn't enough (SB 5870)? Or that he wants to create a PERS 4 retirement system that will eliminate your guarantee pension (SB 5908)?

It doesn't matter that your sacrifices will save the state more than $330 million or that you've sacrificed more than $1.5 billion in the past 2 years. It doesn't matter that these bills won't save the state money and that they'll actually hurt our recovering economy.

They want to bust the Unions.

It's time to take a stand in Olympia! Join me and the thousands of other union members from across the state on Friday, April 8. [learn more here]

Let's send a message to law makers that the workers didn't cause this budget crisis and they can't solve the problem on our backs.

Buses are filling up fast! Please email me back and let me know what bus you're planning to ride or if you're planning to get here on your own.

It's going to be historic!

WA State Union RallyApril 8 Lobby Day and Rally

Rally at the Capitol steps at noon on April 8 to demand that legislators put people first when seeking solutions to the budget crisis.
Washington state's economy has been brought to its knees over the past several years - not by working men and women, but by Wall Street bankers who created the worst economic crisis in our country since the 1930's. Many ordinary working-class people have already paid the price in lost jobs, homes, services and hope.
People are looking for real solutions. We don't need more cuts to working families. We need legislators to recognize that public servants and middle-class workers have already made deep sacrifices to help fix the economy.
The legislature gave away $3 billion in tax breaks in the past 10 years. We need legislators to close tax loopholes and protect the safety net.

On April 8th - come to Olympia and stand in solidarity to demand that legislators protect the middle class and find real solutions to the budget deficit.

More SEIU Collusion to Disrupt the U.S. Economy with the help of the Communist Party USA?

Coming soon to a Union/Democrat/Communist Protest near You!  Don’t get me wrong, but with the information released from The Blaze, these organizations have been exposed as to their long term goal.  I find this blatant and public plan to destroy the U.S. Economy, and a Justice Department more concerned with some silver coins minted out of the U.S. Treasuries authority, of great concern for those of us who treasure our U.S. Constitution.

The ABA's Jihad

While American patriots work hard to hold onto our personal, constitutional rights, the American Bar Association is readying itself to take on States who have approved anti-Sharia laws to supersede local, state and federal laws.  Time to take on the ABA and any public tax payer funds they have, are currently and may receive in the future?

The American Bar Association (ABA) has decided to undertake the fight for Sharia law. The ABA's Executive Counsel "has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states -- Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming -- in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced."

The goal of the ABA's Task Force is to fight against these legislative initiatives by free people, and to develop "an informal set of ‘talking points' that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states."

Here's the relevant extract from the ABA's International Policies 2010:

Oklahoma referendum related Rule of Law initiatives.

The Section's Executive Counsel has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states -- Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming - in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced.  The goal of the Task Force is to have a Report and Recommendation against such legislation as well as an informal set of "talking points" that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states.  We received a lot of interest from members and have forwarded your interest.  At this point, the task force is in the planning and organizing stage. We will keep you updated as to the progress and we may call upon some of you who expressed their interest in this matter to volunteer.

Special report: China flexed its muscles using U.S. Treasuries

Reuters

By Emily Flitter Emily Flitter Thu Feb 17, 10:21 am ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Confidential diplomatic cables from the U.S. embassies in Beijing and Hong Kong lay bare China's growing influence as America's largest creditor.

As the U.S. Federal Reserve grappled with the aftershocks of financial crisis, the Chinese, like many others, suffered huge losses from their investments in American financial firms -- from Lehman Brothers to the Primary Reserve Fund, the money market fund that broke the buck.

The cables, obtained by WikiLeaks, show that escalating Chinese pressure prompted a procession of soothing visits from the U.S.Treasury Department. In one striking instance, a top Chinese money manager directly asked U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner for a favor.

In June, 2009, the head of China's powerful sovereign wealth fund met with Geithner and requested that he lean on regulators at the U.S. Federal Reserve to speed up the approval of its $1.2 billion investment in Morgan Stanley, according to the cables, which were provided to Reuters by a third party.

Although the cables do not mention if Geithner took any action, China's deal to buy Morgan Stanley shares was announced the very next day.

The two Treasury officials to whom the cables were addressed, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia Robert Dohner and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Monetary and Financial Policy Mark Sobel, declined through a spokesperson to comment for this story. The State Department also declined to comment.

China is America's biggest foreign lender, playing a crucial role in the U.S.Treasury auctions that allow Washington to borrow what it needs to keep its government running. At the same time, the United States is China's top export destination: America's trade deficit with the nation reached a record $273.1 billion in 2010. Most economists describe the two economies as co-dependent.

Wisconsin Fights Unionized Public Workforce

The media has a way of capturing the best in people and are really good at capturing people at their worst.  The State of Wisconsin elected a Governor to fix their economy, stabilize their pension system and still honor these people by keeping them employed within the public sector.  What thanks is he getting from the Union bosses and all of the bussed in protestors?  Where has all the civility that was being demanded of us after the shooting in Arizona of Congresswoman Giffords?  How short is our memory?

Here’s a little story, which is based entirely on fact:  A child was standing in front of a candy vending machine.  The child’s father said, “no”.  The child continued to whine for money to get candy from the vending machine.  The father said, “no”, again.  The father went outside to take some personal belongings outside to his vehicle and came back in to retrieve his child.  The child then threw herself onto the floor and proceeded to kick and scream for daddy to giver her money to buy candy from the vending machine.  The father got out money, put it in the machine and gave his daughter the candy.

Now, what is the difference between that scenario (which we all know was exactly the wrong thing to have done) and this display that the Public Union Workers of Wisconsin and around the Nation are displaying here?

Class/Racial Warfare in Politics

Recently the Democratic strategists polled the 2010 elections and found to their shock that they had lost more of the ‘white’ vote since the 2003 elections, or possibly not even since the 1994 elections.  The polls indicated that the white base of their electorate were leaving not only because of the mounting massive debt increases, the economic downturn and malaise, but essentially because of the ‘platforms’ within the Democrat Party.

Please enjoy this short video for the story.

Why Constitutional Conservatism Is Ascending

By Mark J. Fitzgibbons

If 2009 was the year of birth of the Tea Party movement, 2010 was the year of ascendancy of constitutional conservatism.  In many ways, the movements are the same -- except, perhaps, that the Tea Party is a movement of political activism by people who weren't traditionally activists, and constitutional conservatism represents an awakening about the way back to American exceptionalism.

Food Safety Act–Criminalizes the Right to Grow, Own, Trade, Transport, Share, Feed and Eat Homegrown Crops?

Thought I would provide some new information about the a new law that the ‘Lame Duck’ session is voting on to ‘improve’ our lives….This information comes from the www.asamom.org website.

S510 http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, may be the most dangerous bill in the history of the US. (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-510 )
"If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public's right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one's choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God." It is similar to what India faced with imposition of the salt tax during British rule, only S 510 extends control over all food in the US, violating the fundamental human right to food." ~ Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada Health whistleblower.
Monsanto says it has no interest in the bill and would not benefit from it, but Monsanto's Michael Taylor who gave us rBGH and unregulated genetically modified (GM) organisms, appears to have designed it and is waiting as an appointed Food Czar to the FDA (a position unapproved by Congress) to administer the agency it would create without judicial review if it passes.
S 510 would give Monsanto unlimited power over all US seed, food supplements, food AND FARMING.
History
In the 1990s, Bill Clinton introduced HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points) purportedly to deal with contamination in the meat industry. Clinton's HACCP delighted the offending corporate (World Trade Organization "WTO") meat packers since it allowed them to inspect themselves, eliminated thousands of local food processors (with no history of contamination), and centralized meat into their control. Monsanto promoted HACCP.
In 2008, Hillary Clinton, urged a powerful centralized food safety agency as part of her campaign for president. Her advisor was Mark Penn, CEO of Burson Marsteller*, a giant PR firm representing Monsanto. Clinton lost, but Clinton friends such as Rosa DeLauro, whose husband's firm lists Monsanto as a progressive client and globalization as an area of expertise, introduced early versions of S 510.
S 510 fails on moral, social, economic, political, constitutional, and human survival grounds.
1. It puts all US food and all US farms under Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, in the event of contamination or an ill-defined emergency. It resembles the Kissinger Plan.
2. It would end US sovereignty over its own food supply by insisting on compliance with the WTO, thus threatening national security. It would end the Uruguay Round Agreement Act of 1994, which put US sovereignty and US law under perfect protection. Instead, S 510 says:
COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS.
Nothing in this Act (or an amendment made by this Act) shall be construed in a manner inconsistent with the agreement establishing the World Trade Organization or any other treaty or international agreement to which the United States is a party.
3. It would allow the government, under Maritime Law, to define the introduction of any food into commerce (even direct sales between individuals) as smuggling into "the United States." Since under that law, the US is a corporate entity and not a location, "entry of food into the US" covers food produced anywhere within the land mass of this country and "entering into" it by virtue of being produced.
4. It imposes Codex Alimentarius on the US, a global system of control over food. It allows the United Nations (UN), World Health Organization (WHO), UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the WTO to take control of every food on earth and remove access to natural food supplements. Its bizarre history and its expected impact in limiting access to adequate nutrition (while mandating GM food, GM animals, pesticides, hormones, irradiation of food, etc.) threatens all safe and organic food and health itself, since the world knows now it needs vitamins to survive, not just to treat illnesses.
5. It would remove the right to clean, store and thus own seed in the US, putting control of seeds in the hands of Monsanto and other multinationals, threatening US security. See Seeds How to criminalize them, for more details.
6. It includes NAIS, an animal traceability program that threatens all small farmers and ranchers raising animals. The UN is participating through the WHO, FAO, WTO, and World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) in allowing mass slaughter of even heritage breeds of animals and without proof of disease. Biodiversity in farm animals is being wiped out to substitute genetically engineered animals on which corporations hold patents. Animal diseases can be falsely declared. S 510 includes the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), despite its corrupt involvement in the H1N1 scandal, which is now said to have been concocted by the corporations.
7. It extends a failed and destructive HACCP to all food, thus threatening to do to all local food production and farming what HACCP did to meat production put it in corporate hands and worsen food safety.
8. It deconstructs what is left of the American economy. It takes agriculture and food, which are the cornerstone of all economies, out of the hands of the citizenry, and puts them under the total control of multinational corporations influencing the UN, WHO, FAO and WTO, with HHS, and CDC, acting as agents, with Homeland Security as the enforcer. The chance to rebuild the economy based on farming, ranching, gardens, food production, natural health, and all the jobs, tools and connected occupations would be eliminated.
9. It would allow the government to mandate antibiotics, hormones, slaughterhouse waste, pesticides and GMOs. This would industrialize every farm in the US, eliminate local organic farming, greatly increase global warming from increased use of oil- based products and long-distance delivery of foods, and make food even more unsafe. The five items listed the Five Pillars of Food Safety are precisely the items in the food supply which are the primary source of its danger.
10. It uses food crimes as the entry into police state power and control. The bill postpones defining all the regulations to be imposed; postpones defining crimes to be punished, postpones defining penalties to be applied. It removes fundamental constitutional protections from all citizens in the country, making them subject to a corporate tribunal with unlimited power and penalties, and without judicial review.

The Coming of the Fourth American Republic

Really well written analysis on the evolution of the American Republic over the past 233 years.  It is a piece well deserved to be shared and very possibly archived into the History lessons of our schools of higher learning.

The Special Interest State that has shaped American life for 70 years is dying. What comes next is uncertain, but there are grounds for optimism.

The United States has been called the oldest nation in the world, in the sense that it has operated the longest without a major upheaval in its basic institutional structure.

From one perspective, this characterization is fair. The nation still rests on the Constitution of 1787, and no other government can trace its current charter back so far. Since then, France has had a monarchy, two empires, and five republics. England fudges by never writing down its constitutional arrangements, but the polity of Gordon I is remote from that of George III. China’s political convolutions defy summary.

Shift the angle of vision and the continuity is less clear, because we have had two upheavals so sweeping that the institutional arrangements under which we now operate can fairly be classified as the Third American Republic. Furthermore, this Third Republic is teetering (these things seem to run in cycles of about 70 years) and is on the edge of giving way to a revised Fourth Republic with arrangements as yet murky to our present-bound perceptions.

This prediction should be seen as optimistic, not pessimistic, despite the stresses the transition puts on those of us standing on the ice as it cracks. At the risk of practicing “Whig history”—a term applied to the interpretation of history as a story of progress toward the enlightened present—the infelicities of the Third Republic grow tedious, and reform is needed to clear space for the progress of American, and world, civilization.

Understanding the current upheaval is aided by a brief description of the earlier ones.
