The Speech that Rocked Virginia

E.W. Jackson is running for Lt. Governor in the State of Virginia.  Most Lt. Governor races are fairly blasé due to the fact that the Lt. Governor’s role is a fairly limited one with regards to policy and legislation to a State. But, if the fire in this politician’s belly resonates, as the fire-in-the-belly of politicians like Cruz, Paul, Rubio, Lee and our own Rep. Jason Overstreet; America does have hope to regain her stature as “the shining light upon the hill.”

Woodward Questions White House Sanity over Sequester

President Obama mocked politician’s who manufacture crisis's, in his State of the Union address. How many times have I heard the President cry wolf?  Even if the sky were falling, or the big bad wolf were at my door, I do not believe I would believe it to be true.  In truth the sequester agreement is not a cut in the federal budget.  Sequester is a reduction in the growth of federal spending and a very small reduction at that.  If this fact doesn’t bother you, possibly this one will.  POTUS has the ultimate say in what federal program receives less federal revenue for their budget.Picture

Let’s imagine for one minute what that might look like in a real world.  Consider this; you’ve at the grocery store to buy food for the week and you usually spend $100.00 to cover your costs.  You believed you were getting an 8% raise, so you increased your food budget by 8% (that’s an extra $8.00) and you planned for $108.00 in buying power.  But, then your raise was reduced to 6%, you’ve now adjusted your food budget to $106.00.  You now have a few choices to make about your food purchasing choices.  If you’ve already made a grocery list that uses the full $108.00 and you choose what items not to purchase from your list, based on your priorities.  Or, you can buy everything that is on your list, looking for them to be on sale or a find a coupon to reduce the costs.  Or, better yet, you access your preferred media resource to do comparison shopping and learn where, or what other brands, are available at reduced costs.

When faced with difficult choices a leader knows how to make a plan, prioritize and implement it.  The Obama Administration, with the complicit help of the mainstream media, we are bombarded with one crisis to the next and I refuse to be Chicken Little, or Henny Penny screeching, “the sky is falling, the sky is falling!”

Winston Churchill once said; “The difference between a politician and a statesman is; a politician is always thinking about how to get elected and consolidate power.  The statesman is focused on what’s best for the nation.”

It’s time for We the People to start electing statesmen who will speak the truth and make the choices needed to rebuild the publics trust in government.

BOB WOODWARD: A 'Very Senior' White House Person Warned Me I'd 'Regret' What I'm Doing

Brett LoGiurato | Feb. 27, 2013, 6:53 PM | 733,723 | 733

Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a "very senior person" at the White House warned him in an email that he would "regret doing this," the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over thelooming forced cuts known as the sequester.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined.Bob Woodward

"It makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters, 'You're going to regret doing something that you believe in,'" Woodward said. "I think they're confused," Woodward said of the White House's pushback on his reporting.

Earlier today on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Woodward ripped into Obama in what has become an ongoing feud between the veteran Washington Post journalist and the White House. Woodward said Obama was showing a "kind of madness I haven't seen in a long time" for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns.  Click here to read the full story.

Follow the Ideology

If you’ve never heard of PJTV or Bill Whittle, then I encourage you to follow the embedded links here and become a follower and supporter of them.

Mr. Whittle puts out some very well documented and presented material from the perspective of the Constitution and what’s “right” in the world.  Throughout PJTV’s rise in popularity and Mr. Whittle’s career as a contributor, I have found more profound common sense in their short existence than the multi-decades of the MSM and their decline into insignificance.  What’s the difference?  PJTV and contributor’s like Mr. Whittle, have no allegiance to a party.  Their allegiance is to “We the People”.

So as the wise Mr. Whittle has defined here; “follow the ideology” and share this video.  Possibly with a lot more pressure from “We the People”, the media will do their job and expose the evil, uncaring, “the ends justifies the means”, ideology that spawned the “Fast and Furious” Justice Department program.

A message from Rep. Jim McCune, May 10, 2012

clip_image001

Dear Friends,

We are finally receiving some nice weather and I’m glad to hear the lawnmowers and trimmers fired up in the neighborhoods. There are many of us still cleaning up from the winter storms. It would be much more convenient if we didn’t have so many restrictions on how we utilize and care for our private property.

My office has received many calls from constituents commenting and lamenting on how boxed-in they feel with the never-ceasing rules and regulations directing their behavior. Authority over the use of our natural resources has been intertwined with many agencies—governmental and non-governmental. It’s rather sad that we must have permission to put overhangs on our shops to keep water off our equipment, or remove a fallen tree that is creating a water hazard, and that we could be fined for cutting down a tree on our own property. The stories are never-ending.

It’s difficult to comprehend how America (and the globe) became so enamored with the term “sustainability,” the rule-making system in place that guides policies. By reviewing the history of the concept and the background of those who funded, wrote and promoted the concept, we can see a pattern that is too obvious to ignore.

There are many pieces to understanding “sustainability.” Start by checking out the Town and Country Planning Act of 1947 in the United Kingdom (UK). It is famous for a number of its provisions. It greatly strengthened the control of local authorities over planning and land use. You can see sample chapters here. Please note the watermark UNESCO-EOLSS. The provisions in this document read like provisions in America. How did they get here?

Tracing “sustainability” is easy. Just go to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Web site. What is difficult is understanding why America is embracing and implementing this foreign agenda, not to mention sifting through the voluminous pages of research and information about it. For a visual explanation, watch this video. Yes, gaining this knowledge will require a good chunk of your time, but without this knowledge, we will continue to give away our individual rights that were given to us through the blood of our ancestors, and destroy the fabric of our liberty guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and the Washington State Constitution.

In earlier e-mail updates, I cited information about the Earth Charter (look under non-governmental organizations) and how our own Department of Ecology promotes it on their Web site. Here is an easy-to-read article from the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law that explains the Earth Charter. A constitution for the environment has been written. You can read all about it and more here. For a short synopsis, click here.

According to Noah Webster, “sustainable” means: That may be sustained or maintained. The action is not sustainable. What does “sustainability” mean today? It means a new norm for ethical living described by Gro Harlem Brundtland (first Vice-President of the Socialist International and then prime minister of Norway) in her report, Our Common Future. “Sustainability” is meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We are told that painful choices have to be made. Thus, in the final analysis, sustainable development must rest on political will. Who will define what our “needs” are? We must determine whose code of ethics we shall live by—those of our Founders or a global mix of confusion?

EDUCATION

How does education fit in with the “sustainable” agenda?

What is the focus of education today? Factual knowledge? As a reminder, here is the link to a speech by Dr. Shirley McCune (former OSPI employee under Terry Bergeson) discussing the restructuring of schools and telling us that education is no longer about teaching facts. Note, this astounding and applauded speech was back in 1989. An article titled A Changing Vision of Education by Nancy Carlsson-Paige and Linda Lantieri mirrors the vision described by Dr. Shirley McCune in her lecture. Does her philosophy align with your understanding of the purpose of education?

Now we have the federal government promising grant money to states that adopt Common Core State Standards (CCSS). We have Marc Tucker’s American Agenda for Education Reform. Marc Tucker designed the failed WASL. Marc Tucker (pg. 6) is famous for his “Dear Hillary” letter. Here is additional background on Marc Tucker’s influence on our country’s educational system, including RTTT and CCSS. Why is he considered an expert? There is no shortage of information on this subject.

BUDGETS (State and Federal)

As I mentioned in my end-of-session mailer, because of my concerns with the very low reserve it left, I could not support the supplemental budget. I also feel we can do a better job of controlling our spending. The federal government is setting a poor example for states and all entities. It is important you know what the budget breakdown looks like at the federal level. There is a trickledown effect. The state relies on a great amount of money from the federal government. The current debt at the federal level is $13 trillion. You can find a budget breakdown here: Background on Budget and Economy.

TRANSPORTATION

My interest in the history of our state’s Growth Management Act (GMA) led me to a very interesting interview with former Rep. Joe King. He said he was stuck in traffic and wanted to do something about unplanned growth. That was 25 years ago. Is the plan (GMA) that was put in place working?

Recently, I watched an eye-opening presentation (starting at 49 min. mark) by Wendell Cox about our region’s transportation and land-use policies. The Seattle Times ran his article titled “Region’s transportation and land-use policies have little effect on traffic congestion.” It’s an excellent read!

WOODSTOVE LEGISLATION

I have received a number of calls on House Bill 2326, the woodstove burning bill. I want to clarify that I did not support this measure. The legislation gives the Department of Ecology authority over woodstove use, particularly uncertified woodstoves. Apparently, parts of Pierce County did not meet federal air quality standards about 10 days each year. It amounts to more government intervention in our personal lives.

ELECTION-YEAR RESTRICTIONS

I want to remind you that because this is an election year, my legislative communications to you are restricted. After May 11, I am no longer allowed to send e-mail updates, such as this one. Hopefully, there is enough information in this e-mail to keep you busy for several months. After June 30, I am unable to initiate communications with constituents by mail or e-mail unless you contact me about an issue or request information. If you contact me, I can respond as a normal course of my work as your legislator. The mailing restrictions will remain in place until Dec. 1, 2012.

I appreciate all your support during my time in the Legislature. Please continue to contact me during the interim if you have any concerns, comments or need assistance with a state issue.

Sincerely,

Got GBTV? Get it and tune in to: “Rumors of War III”

As I have said before and I will state again, if you haven’t signed-up for GBTV, you should.  The monthly subscription is under $10 and is some of the best $10 I spend every month.  The information shared on GBTV goes way beyond what Beck was capable of airing on FOX News.
Disclaimer:  I am not and have never been a paid spokes person for Glenn Beck or any of his affiliate organizations.  I am a private citizen who shares stories that link together what’s happening, so “you” can use common sense to make sense of it all.

BECK & GEN. BOYKIN EXPLORE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD‘S GRIP ON AMERICA IN UPCOMING ’RUMORS OF WAR III’ DOCUMENTARY

On Wednesday, April 25, at 7:00 p.m. ET, GBTV will air a powerful documentary entitled “Rumors of War III,” which delves into the infiltration of America’s government by militant Islamists like the Muslim Brotherhood. The special promises to provide “irrefutable evidence of the attack underway being perpetrated by the Muslim Brotherhood and Hezbollah.”
Providing a preliminary look into the investigation, General William Boykin — who appears in the documentary — joined Glenn Beck on his Tuesday morning radio broadcast to discuss some little known facts about the role U.S. lawmakers have played in helping the Muslim Brotherhood gain entry into American politics and government institutions.
Gen. Boykin, a founding member of Delta Force, told Beck that Islamist groups have been gaining access to American lawmakers for years, starting under the Clinton administration. The problem, according to the general, has only been “enhanced” by the Obama administration.
Among the nation’s Muslim Brotherhood enablers, according to Gen. Boykin, is Americans for Tax Reform founder, Grover Norquist, who he said brought Suheil Khan — the son of a radical cleric — under his wing and frequently liaised with other Muslim groups here in the U.S., even to the exclusion of attending conservative events. It is is only now, the general pointed out, that Congress is starting to recognize Norquist’s “checkered background.”
Beck noted that perhaps the best observation shared by Gen. Boykin was when he asked how on earth could the Muslim Brotherhood be “secular” given that its very name reveals its religious and ideological affiliation. The name “Muslim Brotherhood” should “give you someclue,” the general quipped.

Will the “Tea Party” play “Moneyball” with the GOP?

The 2010 elections were, without a doubt, a loud message sent to both the GOP and DNC that the average voter has had it with out of control, unconstitutional growth and spending in government.

The 2011 elections were more about seeding local elections with true constitutionalists, committed to restoring the foundations of our Country by working within the confines of the Constitution.  After all, we are a nation of laws?  Aren’t we?

The Tea Party goal is in the long game, to place Tea Party idealists into local and state offices, effect change and gain experience for the long haul.  With a little time, a lot of hard work and demonstrable actions, these tactics will turn around the image of the GOP and draw voters in droves to “morality and ethics” in politics, something that has been lacking in U.S. politics for too long.

While other political groups race for the bottom, the Tea Party works to race to the top.  Not because they strive for money and power.  Tea Party idealists goal is to restore liberty, freedom, and personal responsibility to it’s rightful place.  At the same time they will work to reduce the size and cost of government by reintroducing the private sector as the go-to source for John Q Public’s needs, thus restoring the free markets to their natural state. These goals (and more) have been finely communicated in the posted article below.

Political Moneyball: The Conservative Strategy for Winning the Fight Coming After the Election

by Kurt Schlichter

The GOP Establishment we keep hearing about is real, and it is also doomed.

That will not change whether the Establishment’s candidate Mitt Romney wins in November or not.  After the election, the battle really starts; what is happening now are just skirmishes in a fight for control of the Republican Party.  Not the soul of the party – if it had one, it auctioned it off long ago – but the mechanism of the party.  The Grand Old Party matters only as a vehicle to carry our banner forward.

To do that, we need to seize control, and we do that by destroying the Establishment starting next November 7th.

Superficially, it might seem that we – the outsiders, the Tea Party, the conservatives, whatever the label – are outgunned by opponents with their hands on the reins of power, money in amounts we can’t hope to match, and pals in the media backing them.  But if we understand our strengths, and our opponents’ weaknesses, we can not only compete but eventually prevail.

First, let’s understand our opponent.

The GOP Establishment is an amorphous entity composed of politicians, media types, consultants, writers, lobbyists, party hacks and donors whose first priority is protecting their positions and privileges.  Power, and holding onto it, is more important than ideology.  That’s where we conservatives differ – we have no formal power or position, so changing the power structure doesn’t scare us.  We have nothing to lose; the GOP Establishment has everything to lose.

So, how do we beat it?

The Oscar-nominated film Moneyball tells the story of the Oakland A’s of the early 2000’s and how it had to adapt to compete with clubs like the Yankees with payrolls four times its size.  Under manager Billy Beane, the club reassessed what it thought it knew about baseball, gained a clear understanding of what made a team successful, and then focused ruthlessly on the long game to build a winning team.

What is the key to winning?  In baseball, it is runs – you get enough runs over the course of a year, you tend to be a winning team.  That’s the long game; the short game is the game tomorrow afternoon.  It’s nice to win that fight too, but the secret of moneyball is building success over time by playing the numbers.  Click here to read the full article.

A Foot Soldier’s Call to Save America

 Veterans Day 11-11-11

In the infernal dark night the Obama Regime is hanging on America, the light switch will be turned back on for all to see on Friday, November 11, 2011-Veterans Day.

That’s the day when the drums and fifes of columnist/patriot, JB Williams, retired U.S. Army Major General and senior military analyst Paul E. Vallely, Gathering of Eagles and Eagles Up! organizer U.S. Army (Ret.) Harry G. Riley and Company will drown out the phony bleatings and mindless chants of the Occupy Wall Street malcontents, leading the way to real Hope & Change for America.

Tangible Hope & Change for waiting Americans, not the astro-turfed kind pulled out of an election campaign to dupe the masses.

In a scenario where liberty is fading by day and and one in which the black curtain is about to be brought down on the Constitutional stage, it’s literally Williams, Vallely, Riley and Company to the rescue.  Click here to read the full article.

In Hopes that Local Media will Shed Some Light

October 17th, 2011 |

I haven’t found the time to post much lately, homework, work, kids football and the list goes on, but as our next chance to vote fast approaches I’m finding that one crucial issue has not come fully to light.  The issue is whatever went on in the Whatcom County Treasurers Office between Steve Oliver and one of his employees as well as how our County Executive Pete Kremen handled it.   I can’t tell you what went on for sure, only that something apparently has gone on, but that is the point of this post.   I hope that our local media will shed some light on what has gone on, before we receive ballots asking us to again vote these men into public office.  The people of Whatcom County deserve to know.

For months now I’ve heard rumors of a scandal between County Treasurer Steve Oliver and one of his employees as well as a subsequent hush hush dealing with the situation by County Executive Pete Kremen.   I’ve seen no direct evidence of the situation, so these rumors have remained rumors from my standpoint; I’ve never repeated them.  I frankly had hoped that both County Executive Pete Kremen and County Treasurer Steve Oliver would quietly end their political careers by not seeking re-election this year, or  in Mr. Kremen’s case, election to a new position on the County Council.  Withdrawing candidacy could have left what is undoubtedly also a sensitive personal issue to be dealt with on a personal, not public level.   Sadly it doesn’t look like that is the way it will go down.

Both these men were recently questioned on this subject in open public forums and both seemed to acknowledge the situation, taking it out of the realm of gossip and rumor.  Yet, neither shed light on the facts of the situation and, as of several days later, I’ve read nothing in the news.  So in lieu of the real media at this point, I’ll pass along what I believe to know in hopes that we can make more informed decision.

At a recent NW Business Club forum, County Executive Kremen was asked if he bypassed the human resources department in dealing with a serious situation at the Whatcom County Treasurers office and his response apparently confirmed that he did.

Next, Whatcom County Treasurer Steve Oliver was asked at a Birch Bay candidate forum if he, while in office, did or did not engage in a relationship with a female employee that involved any form of affection, physical contact, sexual contact, or any other inappropriate conduct.  And as a follow up he was asked how that kind of behavior would affect his ability to conduct the duties of the Treasurer’s office.  His response was along the lines that there was no complaint, no grievance, no lawsuit, no threat of a lawsuit and that there had been no liability.  And as far as I know, he didn’t deny anything and as far as I know, he didn’t answer the followup about the effect of this on the Treasurer’s office.

The lack of denial by either Pete Kremen or Steve Oliver gives substance to what had been only  rumors.  Apparently scandal did occur at the County Treasurers office and apparently it was dealt with in a less than standard fashion at the County Executive level.

I think the smartest move at this point would be for Pete Kremen and Steve Oliver to withdraw themselves from candidacy, however I won’t be holding my breath.  But with ballots now close at hand, I sure hope that someone in our local media (Herald, KGMI, Cascadia) will step up and bring some facts to light so that voters may make more informed decisions.
