Institutional Revolution. Think about that.

This article from the blog site “Primordial Slack”, is so well written that any attempt by me to make it my own would diminish it.  So, please read, relish and share this piece for the pure common sense it imparts to the reader(s).

Some days I can’t decide if I’m actually impressed by the once fresh-faced irony of the Mexican ruling party’s name, or horrified that the good-citizen-teachers of Wisconsin will seize upon it for their own identity.

We Don't Need No Steenkin' Badges!

You’d have to admit at this point that “Hope and Change” is a hollow cover for blatant Marxism and it clanks against the heart of liberty in the same sophomoric key as all things institutional. But that is the way of all governments at some point: assimilate the popular sentiment and institutionalize it for your own purposes. Or did you not see what happened in Egypt? Good and impressionable people took to the streets and the governing powers infiltrated, adulterated and subjugated the national mood. They (an amalgam of power-brokers) now own what happened and the people lost.

I think that’s why it’s best to leave Wisconsin to the moonbats. A counter-march and all the attendant fringes of such will, a)never be faithfully portrayed by the State-run media, or b)will be artfully cherry-picked by the MSM out at the fringes for a net loss, or c)be assimilated into One Thing and that won’t be the thing anyone really wants, but will be what they get.

It’s best to let such people self-define, in the end. The singular and non-distilled messaging of the Left is doing our work for us. The minute the Tea Party decides to do something similar, we will be handing power to the ruling Institution and, like it or not, that is still a very fat and happy body of government; a government that is inventing social-bots and twitter-bots and all sorts of State-run media-bots and setting them free to roam the Intartubes.

Even now, people are tiring of the tedious business of sorting through the media morass to find simple meaning. The delicate types want everyone to quit being mean, the deceiving types want to shift blame, and the rest just want to control the conversation when they’re not trying to regulate it for cash and valuable prizes. It all works in their favor. Sure, the cure for restrictive speech is more speech but the ear can only hear so much.

A solid ideology, pure, simple and easily defined by its outcomes is our only unifying force. We lose it at our peril. We must guard it jealously and wisely, not trot it out into the streets when the risk of confusion is high, as in Wisconsin right now. Let that weak pony run itself out.

The Tea Party simply must remain the non-institutionalized factor of real hope. Even now, nice, well-meaning people are planning on using what so many have already accomplished for their own political ends. They will shove candidates and issues and agendas onto the Tea Party like a feather in Yankee Doodle’s cap and call it macaroni if we let them. But for now those types are completely frustrated by the lack of organization; that’s how you know it’s working.

In the meantime, if you want to save your country, you’ll have to do it all by yourself: one acquaintance, one casual encounter, one community meeting, one moment of accountability,  one blog post, one vote at a time.  It might be out of your comfort zone socially, but it wields more lasting effect than all the hollow promises and tender mercies of an Institutionalized Revolution.

Gingrich: If Palin Took Obama Actions, There Would Be Calls for Impeachment

Yesterday the President of the United States publicly declared that neither he nor Attorney General Holder believe the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was a constitutional law.  My jaw dropped open as I considered the implications of such a blatant, “unconstitutional”, power stealing, comment was made by the leader of the “free” world.  The possibility that a conservative President or Attorney General were to publicly state that they would no longer work to defend a federal law and the ACLU along with every law abiding citizen would come down on them with a hammer!  The possibility that a conservative President and their Attorney General colluded to personally decide that abortion (or kidnapping, murder, racketeering, voter intimidation) was unconstitutional, without the biggest backlash and demands for impeachment, is unthinkable!

So imagine my pleasure to find that Newt Gingrich has so eloquently put into words, how best to address this impeachable affront that President Barack Obama and Attorney General Holder have committed.

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV Friday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said President Barack Obama’s decision not to fully enforce the Defense of Marriage law eventually could lead to a constitutional crisis, as he has directly violated his constitutional duties by arbitrarily suspending a law.
Gingrich even suggested that, if a “President Sarah Palin” had taken a similar action, there would have been immediate calls for her impeachment. Asked directly whether President Obama could be subject to articles of impeachment, Gingrich said, “I think that’s something you get to much later. But I think clearly it is a dereliction of duty. Clearly it’s a violation of his constitutional oath. Clearly it is not something that can be allowed to stand."

New Soros investment fund, profiting off Obama's 'green energy' push, hires top Obama energy aide

The City Council of Bell, California was removed from office and arrested.  So who’s looking after the National Treasure?  Is this, or is it not racketeering of a Federal level?  The wheels of the wagon go round and round, round and round, round and round.  The wheels of the wagon go round and round, all day long! (Sorry, some days I can’t keep my head from spinning in circles with the enormity of it all)

BELTWAY CONFIDENTIAL

Politics from the Nation's Capital

By: Timothy P. Carney 02/24/11 3:47 PM

George Soros -- whom we're always told is not serving his own economic interests at all by promoting liberal politicians and big-government policies -- is launching a new investment fund that plans to profit off of the "green energy" boom, which is entirely dependent on government subsidies supported by the groups Soros funds.

As the press release puts it, this fund will "leverage technology and business model innovation to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and emissions, harness renewable energy, and more efficiently use natural resources, among other applications." As Soros puts it in the same release: “Developing alternative sources of energy and achieving greater energy efficiency is both a significant global investment opportunity and an environmental imperative.” Cadie Thompson at CNBC's NetNet flagged this.

So, yeah. The big-government policies advanced by the liberal outfits he funds -- like Center for American Progress -- will enrich the companies in which Soros is investing.

But this story gets better.

The press release casually mentions whom Soros is hiring to run this new fund: Cathy Zoi. As Cadie Thompson at CNBC's NetNet (edited by my brother John Carney), puts it,

Zoi was Barack Obama's "Acting Under Secretary for Energy and Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy." An Al Gore acolyte, Zoi was Obama's point-woman on subsidizing green tech. Now she's going to work for George Soros to profit off of subsidized green tech.

If you remember Zoi's name, it's because of another green-tech conflict of interest: Zoi's husband is an executive at a window company, Serious Windows, which the White House regularly held up as a "poster child of green industry."

The Freedom Foundation of Minnesota put it this way:

"Ms. Zoi is married to Robin Roy, a top executive at Serious Materials, a privately held manufacturer of 'sustainable green building materials' located in California. On the Executive Branch Personnel Public Financial Disclosure submitted by Ms. Zoi to the White House Ethics office as part of her confirmation, Ms. Zoi disclosed ownership with her spouse of 120,000 vested and unvested stock options in Serious Materials, a company her office regulates and that she may profit from."

Oh yeah, Serious Materials pocketed federal stimulus money, too.

But as NetNet's Thompson puts it:

But we can put all that behind us, because now Zoi has left the Obama Administration and will go back to work making an honest living in the private sector, where she can put all the knowledge she gained from working for the Department of Energy to work for the private equity firms. Thata girl Zoi!

Tea Parties Rally in Olympia; Feb. 26, 2011; 11:00am; Capitol Steps

In January of 2008, our President, Barack Obama, led a rally of SEIU supporters to paint the nation Purple (SEIU colors).  Do you think that the President of the United States, Barack Obama, the leader of ‘all’ the citizens of the United States, should be meeting with labor organizers twice a week, have daily phone contact with labor organizers all in support of painting the nation purple?

Well if you’re uncomfortable with the cozy relationship between politics and labor unions, this is the place for you to voice your concern.  If you are concerned about the unending favors to one sector of society to the demise of another, this is the place for you to voice your concern.  If you are concerned about saving the U.S. Constitution as a guardian for “equal” justice over “social” justice, this is the place for you to voice your concern.  Of course I know that as true patriots to the Country and Constitution, that you will bring honorable representation of that to the rally!

The ABA's Jihad

While American patriots work hard to hold onto our personal, constitutional rights, the American Bar Association is readying itself to take on States who have approved anti-Sharia laws to supersede local, state and federal laws.  Time to take on the ABA and any public tax payer funds they have, are currently and may receive in the future?

The American Bar Association (ABA) has decided to undertake the fight for Sharia law. The ABA's Executive Counsel "has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states -- Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming -- in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced."

The goal of the ABA's Task Force is to fight against these legislative initiatives by free people, and to develop "an informal set of ‘talking points' that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states."

Here's the relevant extract from the ABA's International Policies 2010:

Oklahoma referendum related Rule of Law initiatives.

The Section's Executive Counsel has organized a Task Force to review the legislation of 14 states -- Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming - in which anti-Sharia legislation has been introduced.  The goal of the Task Force is to have a Report and Recommendation against such legislation as well as an informal set of "talking points" that local opponents of these initiatives could use to make their case in each of these states.  We received a lot of interest from members and have forwarded your interest.  At this point, the task force is in the planning and organizing stage. We will keep you updated as to the progress and we may call upon some of you who expressed their interest in this matter to volunteer.

USA bends to China’s Request to help Approve Morgan Stanley purchase

While there is no direct quid-pro proof, according to a Wikileak the Chinese urged the U.S. Treasury push to speed up their transaction to purchase shares in Morgan Stanley and it was approved the next day.

Time to clean-up all factors of government!

Special report: China flexed its muscles using U.S. Treasuries

Reuters

By Emily Flitter Emily Flitter Thu Feb 17, 10:21 am ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Confidential diplomatic cables from the U.S. embassies in Beijing and Hong Kong lay bare China's growing influence as America's largest creditor.

As the U.S. Federal Reserve grappled with the aftershocks of financial crisis, the Chinese, like many others, suffered huge losses from their investments in American financial firms -- from Lehman Brothers to the Primary Reserve Fund, the money market fund that broke the buck.

The cables, obtained by WikiLeaks, show that escalating Chinese pressure prompted a procession of soothing visits from the U.S.Treasury Department. In one striking instance, a top Chinese money manager directly asked U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner for a favor.

In June, 2009, the head of China's powerful sovereign wealth fund met with Geithner and requested that he lean on regulators at the U.S. Federal Reserve to speed up the approval of its $1.2 billion investment in Morgan Stanley, according to the cables, which were provided to Reuters by a third party.

Although the cables do not mention if Geithner took any action, China's deal to buy Morgan Stanley shares was announced the very next day.

The two Treasury officials to whom the cables were addressed, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia Robert Dohner and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Monetary and Financial Policy Mark Sobel, declined through a spokesperson to comment for this story. The State Department also declined to comment.

China is America's biggest foreign lender, playing a crucial role in the U.S.Treasury auctions that allow Washington to borrow what it needs to keep its government running. At the same time, the United States is China's top export destination: America's trade deficit with the nation reached a record $273.1 billion in 2010. Most economists describe the two economies as co-dependent.

Wisconsin Fights Unionized Public Workforce

The media has a way of capturing the best in people and are really good at capturing people at their worst.  The State of Wisconsin elected a Governor to fix their economy, stabilize their pension system and still honor these people by keeping them employed within the public sector.  What thanks is he getting from the Union bosses and all of the bussed in protestors?  Where has all the civility that was being demanded of us after the shooting in Arizona of Congresswoman Giffords?  How short is our memory?

Here’s a little story, which is based entirely on fact:  A child was standing in front of a candy vending machine.  The child’s father said, “no”.  The child continued to whine for money to get candy from the vending machine.  The father said, “no”, again.  The father went outside to take some personal belongings outside to his vehicle and came back in to retrieve his child.  The child then threw herself onto the floor and proceeded to kick and scream for daddy to giver her money to buy candy from the vending machine.  The father got out money, put it in the machine and gave his daughter the candy.

Now, what is the difference between that scenario (which we all know was exactly the wrong thing to have done) and this display that the Public Union Workers of Wisconsin and around the Nation are displaying here?

U.S. in Contempt Over Gulf Drill Ban, Judge Rules

With all of the chaos happening in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Miramar, Saudi Arabia, oh heck!, the entire Middle East; wouldn’t you think that there would be the political will to do everything in our power to get our oil locally?  As of yet, the United States continues to spend valuable tax payer money to support offshore drilling in other parts of the world, but nothing is happening here.  Please stop and ask yourself, “Why?”  Common sense tells me that there's a hidden purpose here that ‘We the People’ need to demand answers to.

By Laurel Brubaker Calkins - Feb 3, 2011 11:53 AM PT

The Obama Administration acted in contempt by continuing its deepwater-drilling moratorium after the policy was struck down, a New Orleans judge ruled.

Interior Department regulators acted with “determined disregard” by lifting and reinstituting a series of policy changes that restricted offshore drilling, following the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history, U.S. District Judge, Martin Feldman of New Orleans ruled yesterday.

“Each step the government took following the court’s imposition of a preliminary injunction showcases its defiance,” Feldman said in the ruling.

“Such dismissive conduct, viewed in tandem with the re-imposition of a second blanket and substantively identical moratorium, and in light of the national importance of this case, provide this court with clear and convincing evidence of the government’s contempt,” Feldman said.

Spilled Milk

Thomas Sowell

Thomas Sowell

Despite the old saying, "Don't cry over spilled milk," the Environmental Protection Agency is doing just that.

We all understand why the Environmental Protection Agency was given the power to issue regulations to guard against oil spills, such as that of the Exxon Valdez in Alaska or the more recent BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. But not everyone understands that any power given to any bureaucracy for any purpose can be stretched far beyond that purpose.

In a classic example of this process, the EPA has decided that, since milk contains oil, it has the authority to force farmers to comply with new regulations to file "emergency management" plans to show how they will cope with spilled milk, how farmers will train "first responders" and build "containment facilities" if there is a flood of spilled milk.

Since there is no free lunch, all of this is going to cost the farmers both money and time that could be going into farming-- and is likely to end up costing consumers higher prices for farm products.

It is going to cost the taxpayers money as well, since the EPA is going to have to hire people to inspect farms, inspect farmers' reports and prosecute farmers who don't jump through all the right hoops in the right order. All of this will be "creating jobs," even if the tax money removed from the private sector correspondingly reduces the jobs that can be created there.
